LATE COMMERCIAL
GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows; — Oats.—The market remains unchanged, with little business passing. Practically no inquiries for_ any class of oats have been received from other quarters, with the result that local merchants are not operating. It appears, however, that the quantity of oats held by growers is not large, as very Jew samples are coming to band. Me quote: A Cartons, 2s 8d; B Cartons, 2s Cd (on trucks, country stations, sacks extra!. VYheat.—There is nothing fresh to report in this market. There are no samples coming to hand, but millers do not want wheat at present, preferring to work off their present holdings, and merchants are well stocked. Fowl wheat is worth to Cs 9d per bushel (ev store, sacks extra). Potatoes. —The firming tendency in this market has increased considerably during the week, and good, sound, freshly-picked lines are fetching from £9 to £lO (ex truck, sacks in). As is always the case at this time of the year, supplies in the city are light. Chaff.—The demand is limited to local fowlers, who are not buying big quantities. There lias not been a great quantity coming to hand, hut it has been quite sufficient to meet the very small demand VYe quote: Prime oaten sheaf to £5 5s (ex truck, sacks extra)-.
