FOUND DROWNED. Advice was received by the police today that the body of William Roberts, who was missing from, Waipori Falls last night, was found in the Waipori River this morning. The deceased was 'a single man about 30 years of age. liis mother lives in Gibson street, Roslyn, but the deceased, who was a baker by trade, bad been working at Wanganui and was in Dunedin on holidays. Ho had been on a fishing expedition yesterday. The body was removed to Dunedin, and an inquest was opened tin’s afternoon for the purpose of identification. CHILD FATALLY BURNED. A Taumarunui Association message slates that a child, Bertha Ellon Harriet Bennett, aged three years and eight months, died in the hospital yesterday as the result of burns received on Saturday. The child was left in the house at her parents’ home at Pungapmiga, near Maminui, while the father wont outside temporarily. A few minutes inter another child ran out to the father to say that his sister was on lire. The child was badly burned.
