CHANGE OF RELIGION LONDON, November 11. (Received November 12, at 9.15 a.m.) Mr E. T. Hooley lias been received into the Catholic Church. There is a piquancy in connection with the news, ns at the height of his success ho presented to St, Paul’s Cathedral £3,000 and a set of gold plate, which was handed to his creditors when Fir Hooley was bankrupt. [Ernest Terah Hooley became a stockbroker at the age of 22. By a series of successful deals in company promoting he acquired an immense fortune, at the height of his career commanding over £18,000,000 of capital. His success was shortlived, however, and in 1898 he became bankrupt. Later he embarked upon various other schemes, few of which proved remunerative to the shareholders.]
