Arising from conferences of the executives of both organisations, an arrangement lias been made for co-op-eration between the Nationalist Party and the United New Zealand Political Organisation recently formed, with Mr Davy as organiser, to oppose the Government. Mr Eorbcs, Leader of tho Nationalists, says that his party has joined np in no selfish spirit, and seeks no party advantage over any other organisation or political section that may also have decided to be similarly associated, . Tho now movement, lie says, is composed of all shades of political thought seriously concerned for the welfare of the country.
Mr Davy, interviewed, said the whole weight of the organisation will bo placed behind tho party, of which tho Nationalist Party forms tho nucleus, ft is intended to proceed immediately witii the organisation and the selection of candidates with tho object of contesting every scat at next election.
NATIONALISTS THE NUCLEUS ALL PARTIES BUT LABOR INVITED In regard to the political move Mr Forbes states that after several conferences with the executive of the United New Zealand Political Organisation, the National Party has decided to co-oporaio with the movement, which has for its purpose the formation of a united political party which will comprise all those sections of the community who aro dissatisfied with the present Government, and are looking for an alternative to bring about tbc desired change. A parly considerable in numbers will be required, and it is only by the co-operation of all political 'parties outside the Labor Party that this can bo brought about, and it was with a sincere desire to assist in that direction that the National Party consented to be the nucleus for that combination ,
Mr Davy says the whole weight of the organisation will bo placed behind the Parliamentary Parly, but lie wants it clearly nndorsfood that this is to be the nucleus of a parliamentary party around which they arc confident that, in the near future, will bo built up a strong united Now Zealand party. They intend to meet and confer within the'next fortnight with other groups opposed to the present administration with a view to getting together and taking joint action. The movement is so far advanced that it is the parly’s intention to take offices and locate headquarters at Wellington forthwith.
