FRENCH COAL EMBARGO
SOUTH WALES WELCOMES LIFTING (British Official News.) Preßa Association—By Wireless—Copyright RUGBY, November 9. (Received November 10, at noon.) Tho decision of the French Govern' nient to drop the restrictions in coal imports, which is announced from Geneva, has been warmly welcomed in South Wales, as France is one of tho principal customers for Welsh coal. The decision was not unexpected, for exports to France have shown an upward tendency recently. Some thensands of miners laid been_ thrown idle as a direct consequence of the restrictions, and it is anticipated that work will now bo provided for them.
