PROSPECTS ENCOURAGING Although it was nut possible fo obtain to-day any particualrs as to tho entries already received lor tho Otago A. and P. Society’s forthcoming show, the secretary (Mr Duthie) stated that from the response made by owners and from the inquiries that are coming in he let justified in expressing the opinion that the show this year wall bo an improvement on those of previous years. The Royal Show may affect some entries, as exhibitors receiving honors at Christchurch at the Royal Show may not fool disposed to compete at Dunedin. The committee is anxious to meet exhibitors as far as possible, and has extended the date of receiving entries until Monday, the 14th inst., thus enabling any exhibitors at Christchurch to post their entries after the close of the Royal Show. In former years the dates of both Oamaru and Taieri Shows enabled the society to accept entries from these districts after their respective shows; but tliis year’s dates will prevent this being done, as entries cannot be received after Monday next. The grounds are now in excellent order, and, given good weather, the committee has every expectation of a largo attendance, and is hoping that the show will receive the support of all classes. The programme lor the People’s Day of the show is a very extensive one, and every effort will be made to carry out nil events according to time scheduled.
