RED FUCHSIA MAKES AMENDS
Monday’s winner, Projector, was the only scratching for the Port Cooper Hurdles, and, the starters were Aber--I'ekly (Tilson), Koauau (H. Burt), Kaikahu (Humphris), Dubious (O’Connor), Beauty Light (Kerr), lied Fuchsia (APDonakl). The order of favoritism was Kaikaku, lied Fuchsia, Koauau, and Abcrl'ckly. Ail cleared the first hurdle, lied Fuchsia and Beauty Light being in front. Abcrfolcly was keeping up with the field licttcr than on the previous two days, and was behind Beauty Light us they took the second fence. Then came lied Fuchsia, Kaikaku, Dubious, and Koauau. Ahcrfcldy made a weak jump, and Beauty Light took the lead. Kaikaku made a nice run on the bend and joined Beauty Light, with Aberfekly, Bed Fuchsia, and Koauau following- Aherfeldy was losing ground at the jumps, and had to be hard ridden to keep his place on the fiat. Kaikaku opened out a two lengths’ lead from Beauty Light, who was a. similar distance ahead of lied Fuchsia and Dubious, with Ahcrfcldy dropping back. At the mile post Dubious lost his rider. Along the back the order was Kaikaku. Beauty Light, Koauau. with Red Fuchsia some distance back. At the bend Kaikaku was still two lengths ahead of Beauty Light, and was going away from the field at every fence. Beautv Light was soon beaten, lied Fuchsia moving up into second position, with Aherfeldy and Koauau running last At tiro straight entrance Aberfoldy made a forward move, and ran alongside Beauty Light. Kaikahu was first into line for home, but Red Fuchsia soon headed him. Aherfeldy was making a good run on the outer, and joined Kaikahu and Beauty Light. Kaikahu and Aherfeldy were over the
Ir t fence together. Aberfeldy weakened. and Red Fuchsia drew away on tho flat to win by four lengths. Aborfoldy was third a further three lengths back, with Beauty Light fourth. Time. 3niin 16soc.
