ENGAGEMENT CAUSES STIR

Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.

BERLIN, November 7. (Received November 8, at 11.25 a.m.) Consternation prevails in Court circles at Potsdam concerning the engagement of the Duchess Sophie Charlotte, who in 1926 divorced the Kaiser’s second son, Eitel Fredcrich, to Von Hedemann, an ex-constable and ex-Dragoou Guards officer. Society is shocked by the prospect of her marrying a man considerably younger, and iar below her station in life.—A. and N.Z. and ‘ Sun ’ Cable. •
