WAIKOUAITI BEACH RACES.
10 THE EDITOR. Sir, —As a spectator at tho Waikouaiti Beach races on Saturday, I thought the organisation rather poor. For one thing, insufficient measures were taken to prevent the public from crowding on tho course during a race, thus endangering themselves and competing riders. Tho handicapping, too, was not very good, only ono really close finish being witnessed. _ Also, why was Willmott, whoso machine appeared to bo about tho fastest on tho beach, given in ono race several seconds starton Rhodes, while in tho official programme they were both supposed to bo scratch?—l am, etc., J.A.F.
