EMPIRE’S PROSPERITY

MR AMERY OPTIMISTIC RESOURCES GREATER THAN. EVER. Press Aisociation—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, October 2G. (Received October 26, at 11.5 ft.m.) Mr Amery and Mrs Amery were tendered a warm reception on their arrival at Melbourne. They were met by Mr S. M. Bruce and other Federal and State Parliamentarians. During his Victorian tour Mr Amery has hinted strongly at the possibility of Britain’s preferential tariff in favor of Australian dried fruits and wines being extended. In a speech at Geelong Mr Amery said“ There is an immense prospect opening before us. I am not content to agree that all wo have to do is to return to pre-war prosperity. I believe on _ the contrary that the resources oi Britain are greater than ever before, and that the resources of Australia arm the other dominions can create a prosperity far greater than anything we knew before the war.”
