MISS JEKHIKGS CARMICHAEL GRAVE DISCOVERED IN ENGLAND. Press Association— By Telegraph— Copyright. LONDON, October 25. (Received October 26, at 1.5 p.m.) The grave has been discovered in Woodgrange Park of the Australian poetess Jennings Carmichael. It transpires that Miss Carmichael died pov-erty-stricken in 1904, and it was not until 1927, as the result of a letter from Africa, that the grave was traced and restored. The tombstone is engraved with a verse on the wattle. Paying a tribute to tho kindness of English organisations in restoring the memory of a great Australian woman, Mr Law (?) declared: “Her vision extended beyond the slip-rails of Gippsland and the gum trees from which she received her inspiration.”
