PARLIAMENTARY DIVISIONS
SPEEDIHG-UP SYSTEM INSTALLED IN FINNISH CHAMBER. Tress Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. YCBORG, August 18. (Received August 19, at 11.40 a.m.) Divisions in the Finnish Parliament now occupy only seventy seconds. A machine has been installed in the Chamber beside the Speaker’s chair, and when a division is necessary he presses a button which lights a green lamp as a signal to the deputies, who thereupon press either a “Yes” or “No” button installed on each desk. These are automatically recorded and exhibited to the House.
