[Richard Caton Woodvillo was born in London, tho son of a Baltimore artist, lie was educated in Germany, and went through the Egyptian war of 1682, tho Turkish war of 1878, as well as minor warlike operations in Albania and tho East generatly. Uo exhibited ids first picture at the Royal Academy in 1879, a.ud since then has exhibited annually. He painted several largo pictures in Windsor Castle lor tho Queen.]
