Tho land comprises 35) acres. The upset, price was £2,912 10s. Nearly a dozen persons were present. One of* ferod £1,500, and the auctioneer said ho had no authority to abate tho upset. That was the only semblance of a bid, and tho property was passed in Tho Hon. W. J M. Larnach built tho castle in 1873, It is said that tho property cost him £120,000 m all, tor buildings, furnishings, etc., but there was then a park of 850 acres.
