Several important road improvement! arc in progress im Loudon under tho direction of the Ministry of Transport.. Buildings which project into the Strand, forming an awkward bottleneck about midway down this famous thoroughfare, are being demolished. When completed the improvement, will give tho Strand a. uniform breadth, greatly facilitating traffic. The whole of Piccadilly, which run is westward Iroin Piccadilly Cii'eus, is being relaid, and new water, gas, and electricity mains installed. The workmen are engaged night and day in an endeavor to complete the task Iwlore the holiday season, which invariably lightens (lie volume of traffic in August, is over.
