Progress Juvenile Lodge - held its meeting in the' Methodist Church Hall, Wesley street, South Dunedin, on Wednesday, A.D. Bro. T. 11. Thorburn presiding over a large number of members. D.P. Bro. Maybeo Mas present oflieially, and received a warm welcome. Five new members Mere presented, and, having submitted the necessary qualifications, M-ere initiated by A.D. Bro. Thorburn and officers. The visitors having replied to tho toast, tho lodge was closed and a quoit contest held, the trophy being donated hy Bro. Backley (Royal Oak Lodge). Bro. E. C. Bartlett M - as declared the Manner. ■ Tho fortnightly meeting of Ivanhoo Lodge Mas held on Wednesday, when A.D. Bro. J. Reeves was greeted with a good attends nee of members and visitors. One candidate, was initiated hy the Ross Stewart team of officers in an impressive manner. About thirty couples danced to tho music supplied hy Bro. Newlands and Mrs Isaacs. During the evening M.C. Bro. Simmons presented a handsome trophy to Treasurer Bro. C. H. Wilson for having won the shooting competition on July 27. Bros. Wilson and Brockie acted as M.C.s for the dance.
The fortnightly meeting of Mistletoe Lodge was held in the Protestant Alliance Hall, Green Island, a good attendance of members being present, with A.D. Bro. Smith in the chair. D.P. Bro. Mayheo and P.D.'P. Bro. Wilson were_ appointed judges for the P.A. competition, a good many members competing, including two visiting brothers. Bro. Childs, of Bay Lodge, was declared the winner. The visitors present were D.P. Bro. Maybee, P.D.P. Bro. Wilson, P.A. Bro. Napier, and Bro. Childs. The meeting of Ail Nations Lodge was held at Port Chalmers on Tuesday, being presided over by A.D. Bro. J. Craig. Correspondence was received from Pride of Mornington Lodge, inviting members to the open-: ing of their juvenile branch, which' 1 was accepted. The local Friendly Societies’ Council wrote in connection with matters appertaining to the welfare of the lodge, and the West Harbor Lodge acknowledged with-thanks the donation to their recent appeal. It was decided to again utilise two paces in the issue of the syllabus booklet for 1928. The J.G. office being declared vacant P.A. Bro. J. Col-
thorpe M-as elected to the office and installed by D.P. Bro. J. Walker. One candidate M'as initiated and two proposed for membership.
