Mr IT. P. West (traffic managerj and Mr C. M. Benzoni (district engineer) went to-day to Tiinarn on railways business. Mr R. D. Poison left for Wellington by the 11.34 train to-day. Mr H. J. Topliss, chairman of the Waitaki Dairy Company, camo to Dunedin on business this week and loft this morning for his homo at Tnclibonny, West Coast. New guests at the City Hotel are Miss Ross (Sydney), Mr _ Wilson (Oamarn), Mr Daniels (Wellington), Mr M'Leod (Wairarapa), Mr and Mrs Arthur Lloyd (Timnni), Air Harris (Remuera), and Mr H. Powell (Clyde) Recent arrivals at the Excelsior Hotel include Air B. Martin (Auckland), Mr R. S. Whittaker, Air E, Garrett, Mr B. Brice, Air and Airs L. Dykes (Wellington), Air A. H. Weir (Christchurch). Air R. C. Campbell (Pembroke), Air end Airs F. G. Burnett (Clinton), Air IT. T. Tibbetts (Alexandra). Alessrs R. G. Simmers, W. Bryden, and J. B. Nanson have been nominated by Canterbury College for the Rhodes Scholarship this year.—Christchurch Press Association telegram. Mr and Airs D. Gordon Mitchell left Dunedin by the second express this morning on their way to the Wairarapa district, where they will spend an extended holiday.
Air L. J- Berry, secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association, arrived in Dunedin last evening.
