It is stated that Leet formed a strong attachment for Miss James which was not returned. Leet was most persistent in his attentions, offering numerous presents to her, which were always refused. When Miss James entered her bedroom Leet, who had secreted himself there, confronted her armed with a repeating rifle. A quarrel immediately followed, and a shot was fired. _ _ Mrs Woods rushed from her adjoining bedroom. She saw that Miss James was shot, but before she could catch hold of her another shot was fired and both women fell. Leet then turned the rifle upon himself, and fell beside the women. Leet died shortly after admission to tho hospital, but Miss James was killed instantaneously. Mrs Woods is expected to recover.
