SMIDT (Maid of Honor, Wellington) Bth WINNIE TONKINSON (Miss Southland) 9th MORGIE CAMERON (Maid of Honor, Southland) 10t1i..., JANE KINSEY (Maid of Honor, Canterbury) The season of tho Finalists at the Empire Theatre terminates to-morrow (Thursday) night, when the latest voting results will bo announced. A crowded and enthusiastic audience last night gave each of tho charming girls in the contest a rousing reception, a record vote being cast, resulting in several changes in the order of the competitors. This afternoon the Finalists were the guests of Mr and Mrs Philip Barling at a delightful afternoon tea party, a big round table in the centre of tho spacious Tudor Hall being effectively decorated with tho provincial colors of each of tho Finalists. Tho girls will be the guests of Mrs Stewart Pitt at tea to-morrow afternoon in the Tudor Hall, and of Mrs Austen (mother of. “Miss Otago”) at a 'cabaret in the evening at the Savoy. Tho daily matinee appearances of the Finalists aro being largely availed of by' those desirous of avoiding the evening crush. The party make their departure for Invercargill by the 8.55 a.in. train on Friday.
