MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The quarterly meeting of tho Dahmpre and Gladstone Ratepayers’ Association was held last evening, when air A. Spoor presided. ... ~ ... A letter was received from the Unel Postmaster that the department at Wellington could amt see its way clear to make a clearance of the district letter box at 10 p.m. from the present bite, and he stated that if the box was removed to Pine'Hill road and Eea street the department could clear same at 10 p.m.—The matter was referred to tho executive to take further steps to have the box retained in the present position and to get tho required clearance. With regard to the telephone slot lor tiio district, it was decided to approach Mr Tapley on tho matter. The proposal lor a school lor the district was referred back to the executive. A suggestion that signs for bus stops bo erected in tho district did not meet with much approval; but it was intimated that the necessary steps would be taken for the erection ot proper time-tables, particularly at the terminus. The piatter concerning the connection of the drains in the district was referred to the executive for further consideration. It was decided that the secretary approach Mr Anseli, of the Otago Motor Club, for the erection of danger signs at the blind end of Orbell street. Mr Birchall moved that £1 Is be voted to tho unemployment fund, and this was carried unanimously. Tho financial statement showed that the association had a roll number of fifty financial members and a credit balance of a little over £9.
