THE STEAMER PROTEUS DRIFTED FOR TEN DAYS. Pres# Association —Cy Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, Juno 17. (Received June 17, at 10.5 a.m.) The steamer Proteus, in tow of the steamer Cross Keys, has arrived in port. The Proteus drifted helplessly with a broken rudder for ten days. Food and water had to be rationed. There is no wireless equipment, and the officers had constantly to mount guard over tho mutinous Chinese crew.
