CHEAP TAXIS
CHRISTCHURCH INVADED to tee 'Star.’] CHRISTCHURCH, April 13. Christchurch is being invaded by motor cabs, dozens of them, and tho prices to be charged suggest that they will find ready patronage. The rates will be lower than those which have ruled in the past. These taxi cabs parade under various colors. AVe have tho white diamond cab and tho blue cab already. To-morrow tho checker cab will be seen on the streets, and the black-and-white cab is due to make its advent soon. Altogether, about thirty of these cabs of tho new designation are in service in Christchurch. Individual taxi drivers have caught tho habit, and are decorating their cars with draught board effects. All of the thirty cabs mentioned will have taxi meters, and some of tho individual owners are installing the meters.
