POLICE INQUIRY '-4’. : . c A THREAT OF SUICIDE When a letter was’ received by the police this morning stating that the writer (whoso signature looked like the word “Argue”) intended jumping into the Pacific Ocean, and that his car Mould he found at Bobby’s Head Beach, Goodwood, there was a suspicion in the minds of the officers that the communication might be a ;nke by someone who stilt followed the traditions of April Fool’s Day. But inquiries were set afoot, and a car was locate! at the spot indicated in the letter. Further, it was found that the said car was registered in Southland, where a man of the name of Argue resided. The car had apparently been abandoned a couple of dnys ago, and there was a suit case in it. Further investigation by the police is taking place.
