(Received April 1, at 1.40 p.m.) A serious firo broke out in Woolwich Arsenal, close to the danger zone, whore there were thousands of tons of high explosive shells, grenades, and detonators stored, sufficient to destroy South London. The flames were visible for miles around, and many mothers woke their children and took them to Plumstead Common lor safety, whence they watched the blaze. Fortunately the fire was confined to the store rooms for gas masks and oil tanks, though it was necessary to flood the powder mazagines as a precaution.
