SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

The meetings last Sunday at the Mornington Methodist Church were given to the Sunday school anniversary celebrations. In the morning Rev* W. B Scott gave an instructive address illustrated by several watches. Rev. E. 0. Blamires nas the speaker in the afternoon, and in the evening the minister of the church (Rev. James Richards) spoke on ‘ Hearts.’ The children 'occupied the platform, and sang some of their songs under the baton of Mr 0. H. M’Lean.

' On Monday evening the young people provided an entertainment in ihe school hall. A large stage had been prepared, with new scenic background, which assisted materially in the. success of a pretty cantata Flower Fairies,’ presented by a number of the girls in song and story, each representing a flower, and directed by Miss Rawnsley -/ ' negro sketch, ‘ Going Back to Dixie, o: Dreaming of Long Ago,’ was well coi stfuoted, M’Lean and several juv-. niles in costume contributing darkc songs. Vocal items were sung by Missc 0. Graves, J. M’Lean, M. Patton, 1 Dingwall, L. Pearce; recitations by A. Waite and R. Hutton; and piano solo by Miss M Boult. Miss Moody was accompanist.
