The ‘Daily Mail’s’ Paris, correspondent says that the Comtesse de Janze, interrogated by the police at the hospital, said“l decided suddenly to commit this desperate action, after which I only thought also to kill myself. I regret this act of folly. The police asked her reason for the rash act. The Comtesse said; ‘ You ask me the one question to which I cannot give an answer. That is my secret.” —Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable. DID NOT WANT TO KILL HIM. , LONDON, March 28. (Received March 29. at 10.55 a.m.) The Comtesse De Janze, questioned by the police, said: “I did not want to kill him. I wanted to kill myself. I planned for a long time to kill myself, but don’t understand the motives of my act.” _ • • It transpires that she fired while embracing De Tr.afford. The Count De Janze visited the hospital and saw the Comtesse, but was unable to converse with her. He left greatly distressed. He said: “ Although separated for some time and a divorce is pending, nevertheless'we were friends.”

The bullet penetrated De Trafford’s stomach. Blood poisoning is feared.
