OTAGO MOTOR CLUB

RACES m WAIKOUAITI REACH The motor races at Waikouaiti on Saturday, under the auspices of . the Otago Club, attracted a large number of spectators, who followed the events with the keenest interest. In the Dunedin championship there were only four starters —all Chryslers. In the motor cycle events L. H. Johnson won the three principal events. Mr A. E. Ansell acted as starter, Mr J. L. Passmore as judge, Mr A. M. Sherriff superintendent, and Messrs H. Halliday and E. M'Culloch as timekeepers. Mr P. H. Power (secretary of the Motor Club) also had a very busy day. The detailed results were as follows :

The A.J.S. and tho second machine fiad a great tussle. _ Turning tor the last lap after six miles had been travelled. the Brough was following hard behind Johnson, who, instead of taking the turn wont on. He found out his mistake when Isaacs was well up the beach, but ho caught and passed his opponent within half a mile. AUCKLAND CLUB'S MEETING COMPETITOR BADLY INJURED. fiPaa United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 28. The Auckland Motor Racing Club’s meeting was held at Takapuna racecourse on Saturday. The track was heavy, and the times in consequence. The fastest time of the day was, as usual, recorded by P. Coleman, who was clocked 49 3-ssec for one lap. A. J. Davidson, in the Glasgow Handicap, skidded on the turn opposite the members’ stand, and the back wheel crashed broadside into the fence, throw dig the rider heavily, although no bones were broken.
