The Dominion Meteorologist (Mr D. C. Bates) supplied > the following at noon to-day:—The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, and backing by west to south; the weather will probably prove squally, with heavy showers; barometer rising soon; tides good, sea rough off shore. ARRIVED—March 27. Katoa, s.s. (1.40 p.m.), 2,484 tons, Kane, from Auckland via ports. Harmattan, s.s. (4.50 p.m.), 2,697 tons, H. A. Clair, from Nauru via Lyttelton. ARRIVED—March 28. Holmdale, s.s, (8.10 a.m.), 681 tons, Williams, from Wellington. SAILED—March 26. Kurow, s.s. (12.10 p.m.), 2,625 tons, Ross Clark, for Auckland via ports. Hertford, s.s. (1.20 p.m.), 10,923 tons, D. Urquhart, for Bluff. The Kamo should load at Westport about Thursday for Bluff and Dunedin, She is due hero about April 6, and after discharge will load general cargo for Napier and Gisborne. Tho Kairanga was to leave Bluff today for P.ort Chalmers; thence Lyttelton and Sydney. Tho Clan Ogilvy was to leave Port Chalmers to-day for Dunkirk, Hull, .and London via Capo Horn and Montevideo. Tho Storm is expected on April 2 from Lyttelton. The Waihora went to Port Chalmers on Saturday to be laid up, Tho Kahika will, load at Gisborne to-morrow for Dunedin direct. She wil' load out on Friday for Napier and Gisborne via ports. The Wingatui is expected to leave Lyttelton this evening for Dunedin. She will load out on Wednesday for Oamaru, Timnru, Lyttelton, V cllington, and Auckland. The Calm is expected on April 1 from Bluff.

Tho Waipinta will leave Auckland on Wednesday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.

The Gale is due to-morrow afternoon from Timnru. She will sail tomorrow for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui, The Katoa, which brought transhipments ex the Waihemo, Ngaio, and Arahura, will sail to-morrow for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland.

THE FERRY SERVICE. Tlio Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.55 a.m. yesterday, and passengers came south by the 8.50 a.m. express to-day. THE PERSIAN PRINCE. Carrying a cargo of sulphur, the steamer Persian Prince is to leave Galveston, Texas, on April 12 for Auckland, Lyttelton, New ganui, and Australian ports. She is duo at Auckland about May 20. STEAMERS FROM CUBA. The steamer Baron Amlrossau _was expected at Auckland trom Cuba to-day. The Baron Graham, which passed through the Panama Canal on her way from Cuba on Friday of the week before last, is duo at the northern port about April 15. She will be followed by the Baron Ruth veil, which is to clear Cuba about May 1 lor Auckland, where she is due during the first week in June. THE WAIRUNA. The Union Company’s transpacific .steamer Wairuna, which reached Vancouver from Fanning Island last Monday, is loading at Pacific Coast ports for Papeete, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. HIXEMOA RESUMING. The Government steamer Hincraoa, which has undergone an extensive overhaul, was to load for Norfolk Island and sail to-day. THE ROTORUA. The Now Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua is scheduled to leave Southampton on April_ 9 with passengers, mail, and cargo. The cargo is for discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Wellington on May 14. RUAPEHU’S PROGRAMME. The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Ruapehu arrived at Wellington yesterday from Lyttelton to load for London, The vessel will sail to-morrow for Now Plymouth to put out the remainder of her cargo from London. She should leave Wellington on April 26 for" Southampton and London via Panama. MAIMOA’S LOADING. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s Mairnoa was to have left Wellington at daybreak yesterday for Port Chalmers to fill up for London. KARETU LEFT SYDNEY. The Union Company advises that the Karetu left Sydney at about midnight on Friday for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, i and Lyttelton.

ARGYLLSHIRE DELAYED. The Argyllshire, from Napier, missed the tide at Bluff this morning and is now not expected to be berthed at the southern port until to-morrow afternoon. Sho will continue loading, and sail thence for Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Wellington for further loading. OP.IHTS SCHEDULE. - The Opihi was to leave Westport today for Timaru and Dunedin. ■ Due hero on Saturday, she is to load for Nelson and New Plymouth via ports. NAURU PHOSPHATES. About 2,500 > tons _ of Nauru phosphates are being discharged at Port Chalmers from the steamer Harmattan. At Lyttelton the ship was delayed by a dispute about rations. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
