“ GLORY AND PEACE " Press Association—-By Telegraph—Copyright. TOKIO, December 28. (Received December 29, at 11.30 a.m.) The name of the new era in Japan, “ Sho Wa,” translated “ Glory and Peace,” undoubtedly has been prompted by the traditional proclamation at the openihg of the Christian era, “Glory be to God in the highest and on the earth peace and goodwill to men.” The naming occurred early on Christmas morning, immediately after the accession of the Emperor Hirohito'.
