The opposing forces of the Conservative and Liberal (rebel) Governments at Las Perlas, in East Nicaragua, have declared a truce in order to bury their dead and care for their wounded. The losses were heavy on both sides as the result of a four days’ battle, in which the Liberals, allegedly aided by Mexicans, forced the Conservatives to withdraw towards Blucfields.
