In the House of Commons Mr Churchill informed Mr H. tl Woodcock that Britain owed the United States £930,000,000. Britain had received under the war debt-funding arrangements £2,000,000 from France, who still owed her £797,000,000; from Italy £4,000,000, leaving £271,000,000 still owing: and from Rumania £50,000, leaving £31,000,000 still owing. The total receipts were thus £6,050,000, leaving £1,099,000,000 still owing.
