GIFT TO VICTORIA COLLEGE [Pek United Press Associ'iiov.J WELLINGTON, September 10. I.t is announced that 'Mr William Weir, who died this week, bequeathed Victoria College £70,000 for the construction of a hostel for the college. The late Mr Woir was eighty-eight. He arrived in New Zealand in 18G-1, and ultimately became a member of the firm of Waddel, M‘Lcod, and Weir, timber merchants, from which ho retired seven years ago. He was never married.
