SPIRITUALIST CHURCH

‘ A Talk About Prophecy ’ was the subject for the lecture on Sunday evening, Miss Burgess giving instances from the Bible of many prophecies given therein, and stating that this Divine interpretation or prophesying was at one time upheld in all churches, but is not encouraged in many at the preesnt time. All Spiritualist mediums (said the speaker) have this gift, verily a gift from God, and, as like attracts like, it is necessary to strive to keep oneself pure, and on as high a spiritual plane as possible, to bo able .to receive the highest spiritual interpretations and inspirations. Prohesying is the interpretation of the Divine will, and he who wishes to realise the presence of God must come into touch with the highest human revelation of God. We cahnot interpret our own longings until we see them in the light of some loftier type of personality. Ho comes only through doors that are purposely opened for Him, and He can be received only through appreciation and conscious appropriation, for God’s spiritual presence in us is always in proportion to onr capacity to have Him there, and we ourselves unfortunately limit that capacity.
