THE FERRY SERVICE, Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.55 a.m. yesterday, and passengers and mails came soutli by the 8.50 a.m. express to-day. AUSTRALIND FOR TIMBER, The steamer Australind, 4,392 tons, has been chartered to load a full cargo of jarrah at Banbury for Now Zealand. She will call at Sydney on route Horn Bunbury. NEW YORK SAILINGS. Tho Commonwealth and Dominion ■Line steamer Rort Hacking is to leave New York on August 28, and the Port Bowen on October 22, both with cargo for discharge at. Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. Another propeller was to bo fitted at Port Chalmers to-day to the Sittang, which lost her propeller on Saturday when a little outside Otago Heads eu route to Westport (for bunkers), thorns Ocean Island to load. The Breeze is now duo on Thursday from Wanganui direct. She will sail ttie same day fur Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and' Wanganui._ The Waipahi, which arrived yesterday from Auckland and East Coast ports with genera! cargo, was to sail late this afternoon for Bluff. She will return on Wednesday to load lor Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. After unloading produce from Dunedin and Lyttelton the sailed from Auckland on Tuesday ipr Grafton to load hardwood for Now Zealand. The Calm is now expected on Wednesday from Wanganui via ports. She will sail on Wednesday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Storm should arrive on Saturday from Wanganui via ports. Tho Kamo will sail to-morrow night for Napier and Gisborne via ports. 'The Karetn was duo at Lyttelton today from Sydney, and was scheduled to sail to-dav or to-morrow for Dunedin.

Tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Tainui loft Wellington this morning ior Southampton and London. PAKEHA DELAYED. The Pakeha, which has been delayed at Gisborne owing to bad weather, was to have loft that port yesterday to load at ’Wanganui, Lyttelton, and Wellington. She is duo at Wellington on August 26, and sails on August 23 for Ixmdon via Montevideo and Tencrifle. THE CANADIAN CRUISER. The Canadian Cruiser, which lelt Lyttelton on Saturday for Timaru and Dunedin, is duo back at Wellington on Friday to continue loading for New York, Boston, and Montreal. The Canadian Cruiser will afterwards go to Auckland, and is to sail finally from that port on August 25. HINEMOA LAID UP. The Government steamer Hinomoa’s overhaul will bo completed toward tho end of next week. On August 21 she is to be despatched with passengers, mail, aud cargo for Norfolk Island. THE CANADIAN CONQUEROR. Tho Canadian Conqueror, which loft New Zealand on July 9, arrived at Panama at 7.30 a.m. on August 9, en route to New York, Boston, and Montreal. KEELUNG FROM NEW YORK. The Keolung is due at Auckland about August 23 from New York via Panama. The vessel is bringing general American merchandise for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Hobart, and Burnie. She should arrive at this port about September 7.
