GUNSHOT WOUND

CHARGE OF lURDEB [Per United Press Association.] TIMARTJ, August 12. At the Magistrate’s Court Owen Joseph Francis MTCee was charged with the murder of Duval Earle England at Makikilii on July 29. On the application of the police a remand was grantecT to August 19. At the adjourned inquest concerning tho death of D. B. England, who received a charge of buckshot in the abdomen from a gun which was being unloaded by Owen M‘Kee, the latter claimed the privilege of withholding certain details of evidence on the ground of the possibility of incriminating himself of manslaughter. One witness deposed to deceased stating that he had quarrelled with M‘Keo, giving the latter a black eye, this statement being made the night before the tragedy, A nurse at the hospital, however, stated that England told her his mate had intended shooting a hawk, but the, breech had jammed, and ho got the full charge of shot. The Coroner (Mr E. D. Mosley) said the inquiry had been rendered difficult by the most important witness declining to carry his evidence to the fullest possible point, and ho commented on the doubtful wisdom of this course. Had M*‘Kee carried his evidence through he (the magistrate) would have been justified in coming to a certain conclusion. but he could only find that Duval Earle England died from shock and hemorrhage, due to a gunshot wound caused by tho discharge of a gun in tho hands of Owen Joseph Francis M'Kee.
