PREFERENCE FOR BLONDES AMERICAN AUTHORESS’S VIEWS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 9. A remarkably vivacious American authoress, Anita Loos, aged 26, whose book, ‘ Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,’ is an international “ best seller,” is on a visit to London. She has been extensively interviewed. All tho interviewers were amazed to find that tho visitor has jot black hair. She insisted that gentlemen really do prefer blondes. She said: “ Very few men like to be contradicted. They hate their pet views and theories to be questioned by women, and as dark women invariably hold stronger opinions than do - blondes, gentlemen prefer tho latter. Tho husband of the authoress was asked for his opinion. Ho said: ‘‘ Who am I to contradict Anita? Anyhow, I am not a gentleman. I am only a working man.” The writer is in London for tho purpose of producing a play named ‘ The Whole Town is Talking.’—A. and N.Z. Cable.
