NOTE TO DULGARfA COMPLAINT AGAINST ARMED BANDS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SOFIA, August 11. (Received August 12, *at 11.40 a.m.) The diplomatic representatives of Jugo-Slavia, Rumania, and Greene have handed a collective Note to the Foreign Minister, regarding the activities of bands of Comitadjis. The contents of the Note have not yet been divulged, hut the officials declare that it is not an ultimatum.—Reuter. [Comitadji is the name given to Bulge r revolutionary troops. The origin of these bands is obscure. An organisation was founded at Sofia in 1894 to aid the Macedonians who were oppressed by the Turks, and the latter gave the name of Comitats or Comitajis to the composing it and certain secret societies. Later the term was applied to revolutionaries organised in Comitadjis, or armed hands, who kept up a guerrilla war against the Turks.]
