ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
CRUSHED UNDER WHARE. An Ashburton message states tliai Peter Barrie, a. fanner, of Tinvvald, suecumbed on Saturday afternoon to injuries received on Monday last through being crushed by a jack slipping from a wharo under which he was working. A FATAL FALL. Patrick Teevan, aged twenty, residing at Te Papapa, fell off a motor lorry when returning with inends after a football match on Saturday, and sustained injuries to his head. He wa« able to proceed home, but he afterwards became unconscious. He was sent to the hospital, where an operation was performed; but he died last night— Auckland Press Association telegram. LEG BROKEN. George Hobson, aged forty-two married, employed at the Hillside Workshops! had his left leg fractured absv® the knee this morning by a buffer that fell upon him while he was unfastening it from a truck. The man, whp live* at 7S Fitzroy street, South Dunedin, was taken to the hospital. FOOTBALLERS IMPROVING. Harry M'Whinnie, who crashed into a gord post while playing football on Saturday, and was removed to the hospital, is recovering satisfactorily from his not serious injury. Colin Summers, whose left leg was hurt while he was participating in the University E v. High School match, m steadily, improving.
