A SAD ROMANCE. But Angela cannot do this, and convinces Giovanni that her vows i are sacred. Nature, as if in sympathy •with the upheaval of these two souls, prepares to devastate the countryside— Vesuvius is in eruption! Giovanni recklessly rides down the mountain to warn the sleeping villagers beneath. In tho tremendous scenes that, follow Giovanni dies, but not in vain, and Angela’s dedication becomes real.
