PAPAWAI COMPETITIONS. [Pek United Press Association.] CARTERTON, March 15. The Papawai meeting was concluded to-day in good weather. At the conclusion the prizes were presented by Mr H. H. Donald, of the Opaki Club, who was chief range officer. Results; — Buchanan Match. 800yds.—A. S. Ballinger, Pctone, 50, £3 10s; H. T. Boon, Karori, 50, £3 lOs; J. M'Kelvie, Karori, 49, £2; F. AFDonald, Karori, 49, £2; A. V, Swanson, Karori, 4!), £1; B. Holmes, Wanganui, 49, £l. Thirty qualified lor £l, and eight were counted out. Four tyros gamed £l, seven 10s, and three were counted out. The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club fired a practice match on Saturday afternoon. Conditions were: Ten shots each at 200yds and 300yds. The following are the scores :—- fl.
KIWI CLUB. The club fired one of a series of two matches on Saturday for prizes presented by the club. Conditions: Seven shots at 300 and 600 yards, with optional sighter; scores of both matches to count; handicaps as allowed by club handicapper.s. Those matches do not count for the championship, and are arranged to cover the period which is required by representatives to visit Trentham. Saturday’s scores were as follow:
