EMPIRE ' Sinners in Silk, 5 which is being shown at the Empire Theatre,. is the story of a girl who is hived by two men. One has been rejuvenated by gland treatment, the other is a boy who has been brought up to look upon jazz and its environment with a sorrowltd eye. The rivalry of these two men makes a gripping story that captivates the audience till the closing scene. The chief parts are taken by Virginia Lee Corbin, Adolphe Menjou, Conrad Nagel, Eleanor Boardman, Jean Hersholt, and Jerome Patrick. During the evening the Empire Select Orchestra, under the baton ot Mr C. Parnell, renders a wellselected musical programme. OCTAGON ~~ The First National picture ‘The Making of O’Malley is at present being screened at the Octagon Theatre. The story tells of the love of a Now York policeman for a society heiress. The leading performers include Milton Sills, Dorothy Mackaill, Thomas Carrigan, Claude King, Warner Richmond, Julia Hurley, Allan Brander, Charles Graham, Noll Craig, and Jack De Lacy. A large part of this picture was actually filmed on the streets of Now York, where Milton Sills is shown directing the street traffic. The Octagon Select Orchestra, under the baton cl Mr A. Noale, will provide an excellent musical programme during the evening. " EVERYBODY'S ‘A Boy of Flanders,’ starring Jackie Onogan, is the feature at Everybody's Theatre this week. The story centres about a, lonely waif named Nello, whoso only friend is a great dog. Nello is gifted with a remarkable artistic talent, and enters a sketching competition. His entry has been overlooked; however, it is discovered and rewarded. The supports are beaded by Bebe Danials in ‘The Manicure Girl.’ QUEER'S AND KING EDWARD ‘The Speed Spook,’ at present showing at the Queen’s am! King Edward Theatres, has an pxi raordinary plot that is full of pathos and humor. The featured players are Johnny Hines, Edmund Breeso, Frank Lnsce, Henry West, and Warner Richmond. A feature of this picture is the motor car race, in which the contestants move at well over 300 miles an hour. PLAZA AKD GRAND ‘The Man of Iron’ is the main attraction at the Plaza and Grand Theatres this week, and tells of the loveless marriage of a groat iron master. The strong cast includes Lionel Barrymore, Mildred Harris, Winifred Barry, and Dorothy Kingdom The support, entitled ‘ Wages for Wives,’ tells of a typical American small town where the men have long been considered as the arbiters of the family fortunes. From then on the story is filled with laughable but .strictly human situations that appeal to everyone.
