Although lie was employed, Colin Campbell made a declaration that he was out of work, and thus secured a war pension to which he was not entitled. Yesterday morning ho appeared before Mr Hewitt, S.M., at Christchurch, and pleaded guilty to a charge of obtaining payment of a pension under the War Pensions Act, 1915, by moans of a false or misleading statement. He was fined £lO and costs. Governor . Wallace R. Farrington ; of the territory of Hawaii, has received word indicating that Hie Government of New Zealand will give £2OO as its contribution toward the project lor area ting a public park the monument of Captain Cook, at Koalakekua, Hawaii. The proposal was made months ago to include the area in n public park. The area surrounding the monument is British, being deeded to that Government by owners of the laud several years ago.
