At 2.28 p.m. yesterday the City Fire Brigade was called to the Prime of Wales Hotel, Princes street, where an outbreak had occurred in the store room. Two machines were despatched, and the blaze was subdued before much damage was done. One magistrate said to another: “That prisoner put up a very good fight the other day, didn’t he?” “No wonder,” replied the second, “he's got the courage of his twenty-one convictions.”
