(Received February 1(5, at 9.5 a.m.) Cambridge has conferred the honorary degree of doctor of science on Sir Edgeworth David. —‘The Times.’ f Sir Tannatt William Edgeworth David, K.8.K., G.M.G., F.R.S., Ilou. D.Se. Oxon, lion. LL.JD. Wales, was professor of geology’ at the Sydney University from 1891 to 1924. lie was a member of the. Geological Survey, New South Wales, and was loader of an expedition to the Ellice Islands in 1897. He was scientific officer with the Shackleton Antarctic Expedition, 19001909, and led a, party which reached the South Magnetic Role on January 1(1, 1909. He was geologist to the British Armies on the western front from 191 S to 1919.]
