INDIGNANT CLERGY,
WASHINGTON, December 5.
Indignation is felt by the Roman Catholic clergy at an attempt to involve the Vatican in the Prohibition controversy. A letter to tho Pope ha.s been sent by the United Prohibition League asking for his moral support of dry law enforcement.
Roman Catholic clergy have denounced the league’s action, which, they say, tends to involve the Vatican in American politics. Rum Row smugglers are spending money lavishly in an effort to land Christmas liquors.
