The officers and men ol PN9 1 wore found, alive and veil, adrift in the Pacific by a United States submarine on Thursday afternoon, fifteen miles east of Kauai. The piano was found floating at 4 p.m. It is being towed to Pearl Harbor.—A. and N.Z. Cable, DEPARTMENT ELATED. WASHINGTON, September 11. (Received September 12, at 1.5 a.in.) Air Wilbur and the officials of tlie Navy Department aro jpbilant over the nows of tho safety of tho crew of RN 9 No. 1. Admiral Eborlo, Chief of Operations, made the following statement: “It is wonderful news. 1 cannot find words to express my gratification. Wo bad based tho bopo of safety on tho staunchness of the plane, which might have drifted to port Intel she not bad the good fortune to bo picked up by the patrol boat 11.4.”—A. and N.Z. Gable.
