FAKING A POWER METER [Per United Press Association.] HAMILTON, August 21. . It being conspicions that the amount of current paid for by Charlie Fong, a Chinese laundryraan in a largo way of business, did not represent the full consumption, the borough inspector installed check meters. These, over a period of two months, showed considerable disparity with Fong’s meter, and a surprise visit to the premises revealed that the current was being diverted from the meter by temporary wires. At the police court Fong was lined the maximum of £2OO, the magistrate remarking that there were no mitigating circumstances.
