SALES OF WORK
A sale of work in aid of funds for the soldiers’ memorial window to be erected in St. Paul’s Cathedral was opened yesterday afternoon in the Burns Hall. The stalls were well laden with cakes, produce, sweets, etc. The stallholders are as follow : | Work.—Mesdames Rankin, Scurr,! Mondy. Bond, Martin, Latimer, and I Miss Blyth, j Produce. — Mesdames Grubb and i Goodloy. | Sweets.—Misses Richards, King, I Mondy, Featherston. Calces.—Mesdames Fulton, Farr, ■ Nichol, Pascoej Dickinson. i Handkerchief and China Stall,—Mrs W. A. Russell, Misses Howlison. Book Stall. —Mrs Moore. Fancy Stall.—Miss M‘George. Tea Rooms.—Miss J. 0. M'George and helpers. j The sale was continued this after- ; noon, and will also bo open this even- : ing. An entertainment was provided j last evening by Mr Arthur Gard’ncr, and Mrs Williams, and a concert has been arranged for to-night by Mr > Ernest Drake. There was a fairly good attendance! at the “ Cake and Apron Fair ” held in the Methodist School Room, Morn- | ington, last night. The Christmas tree ! was laden with all manner oF novel- 1 ties. The Young Ladies’ Bible Class rendered an excellent half-hour’s en-, tertainment. Upwards of £3O was ; taken at the stall. The remainder of i the articles will be sold to-night. | The jubilee bazaar in connection with ! the Rosiyn Methodist Church was r opened yesterday afternoon in the Wai- i kari Hall by the mayor (Mr Tapley). I Good business was done yesterday and, the sale will he continued to-morrow. I
