ODDFELLOWSHIP

There was n largo gathering of Oddfellows at tile hail, Albany street, on Monday night, when Leith Lodge marked the sixty-third anniversary _ of the order in Now Zealand by inviting veteran members and also visitors from the L’.R.A. fleet. Bro. E. K. Clarke presided, and was supported by the D.D.C. "Master Bro. Glover. Red, white, and blue decorations, together with the flags of Britain, America, and New Zealand, were upon the walls. Bro. L. I). Ritchie outlined the early history and progress of the i .0.0.J'., referring also to the officers of early years who did go«d service in their day. Bro. D. M. Miller, referring to the. Stars and Stripes, spoke oT this flag as a fine., soft, white, ileccy cloud .striped with a, rainbow lino, and a little bit of bright star-spangled blue. Bro. J. O'. MM’ealc quoted some reminiscences of former years. ’J ho oldest veteran present was Bro. Richard Williams, who, with Bro. L. [’age, expressed appreciation of the order. Bro. H. IT. Johnson conveyed thanks to those who had helped to make the meeting a success, anil to members of flic Pioneer Bodge in New Zealand who were present. Music and rcircslunents helped to make a pleasant evening.
