HUGE FINANCIAL DEAL
PROPERTY IX MOROCCO. GERMAN INTERESTS ROT'GHT. Pro*a Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN, August 18. It is learned that a gigantic financial deal—-probably the largest since the war—is at present being negotiated, by which an Anglo-American syndicate (the names of the members of which are not disclosed) is purchasing the entire property of Mannesmann Bros, in the Spanish zone of Morocco. The vast property includes the harbor works at Alhnccmas and elsewhere, zinc, sulphur, and other mines, and largo tracts of agricultural land. The reason for the sale is reported to he the unsettled state of the country. Mannesmanns, seeing no prospect of carrying on without political complications, intend concentrating on their activities in the Balkans.—Renter.
